Many years ago, when I was fresh out of university and still not sure of what I wanted to do, I took one of those ‘Find the Right Career’ multiple choice tests.
You probably know the kind of thing. It had dozens of questions along the lines of ‘Do you like working with people’, ‘Are you adept at problem solving’ and ‘Are you good at working to deadlines’. You then had to give an answer on a rating of one to five.
Anyway, I took the test and my results came out. Right up there was ‘Copywriter’, which helped set me on the path to what I do now. But in among my top suggested careers were some slightly eyebrow-raising suggestions, including ‘Surveyor’ and ‘Airline pilot’. Right up at the top was ‘Minister of Religion’. Which was a little odd, given that none of the questions had mentioned religious faith. And that both then and now, religion was not something I felt the slightest inclination towards.
But perhaps my evangelical side is now coming out in this blog.
