Would I change it? Not for a moment. Self-employment in the copywriting field is the route to greater freedom, better rewards, more fun and, much of the time, better work.
The only downside is doing those tax returns.
And one of the biggest upsides is hearing from potential new clients who want a website, advert or brochure written. Like you, maybe.
