Recent freelance copywriting projects
A good end to the year (in fact I haven't really stopped since September).
- Taking up most of my time has been a massive website project for the official recruitment body of the MoD, including optimisation and copy for around 100 pages.
- More website work for Outreach International, the volunteering overseas organisation. I've now been doing work for them for five years.
- Some small projects for a leading international fragrance company.

Copywriting projects in the last month
Still very busy, which is great.
- I'm in the middle of a major website project for a London market research company, including copy optimisation.
- Again, I'm halfway through a website rebranding and copy optimisation project for a business services company based in Portugal.
- Some more brochure / email work for the new fitness initiative.
- a fun project reshaping the rules and writing a press release for a new board game.
- A presentation for Sony Ericsson.

Latest freelance copywriting projects
Exceptionally busy lately. Projects have included some conceptual work for a couple of integrated advertising agencies, which makes a nice change. I used to do a lot of concepting, but in recent years it's been mostly writing body copy.
- Concept work for a market-leading insurer who are rebranding. Mostly adverts, but could turn into direct mail, leaflets, digital and so on.
- Some concepting for a well-known educational/vocational learning client, helping to revive a well-known name that's been taken for granted too long.
- Posters for Hilton Hotels. Concepts and copy with this one.
- Some homepage headlines and copy for a specialist lettings agency.
- Another newsletter for Affinity Sutton.
- Copy work for Yahoo!
- Another project for Sodexo.
- Lots of little editing / proofing projects for the online gambling company.

Recent copywriting projects
Some interesting new work lately:
- A complete website, including SEO copywriting, for a new beauty salon.
- Another complete website, on a much larger scale, for a well-known fitness professional and his studio. This again includes SEO copywriting, as well as various email promotions.
Plus more work for regular clients such as Stage on Screen, Craftwork and the online gaming company.

Latest Google results
One of my most important copywriting services is helping small and medium sized businesses to get on the first page of Google for relevant and well-used keyword terms. I've just updated my Google results page and as usual, most first page rankings are holding steady, a few have improved and a few have slipped slightly.
If you didn't know already, much of this is down to how the sites are written - choosing the keywords which are likely to be most effective and then using them in the best ways. None of the sites I show pays an SEO company to boost their results or has a formal link-building campaign. All it takes is the right content, a few simple extra steps and some regular updating.
Some of these Google first page results are for sites I copy optimised several years ago. And the companies concerned are still continuing to pick up regular business because of it. It's why, of all my copywriting services, SEO copywriting is one of the most satisfying.

New articles
I've added a couple of new articles to my SEO copywriting articles section
Although not strictly about SEO, they are about two pages which are essential for most websites, yet which often get overlooked. These are the Privacy Policy page and a Testimonials page. Have a read if you'd like to know why they're important and how to put them together.

Recent projects
I've been sunning myself on a scorching Greek Island for the last couple of weeks, so less done in August than usual However, projects have included:
- A new website project for a Saudi Arabian agency
- Further work on Bowmore whisky
- A further brochure for the Yorkshire nursing home
Plus several ongoing projects for long-standing clients.

Update to my Google results page
Just been updating the figures. Even after, in some cases, several years, the copywriting changes I've made to websites are still bringing in first page Google rankings for relevant, popular keywords.
It goes to show that for most companies, you don't need to pay an SEO company every month to get the results you're looking for.

It was getting a bit unwieldy to add new websites to my Website Copywriting page. I also wanted to add thumbnails. So now all my website samples are all easy to see and find, and all are on one page.

I've just added in some results for Brochures and newsletters page
I rewrote most of their site late last year and the optimisation is starting to kick in. Will update the latest Google results for the other website listings when I have time.

Recent work
Some ongoing projects, plus a couple of new ones:
- In the run-up to Christmas and of the first week or two of 2010, I've mostly been writing banking guides for expats for a well-known international bank. 22 of them. Phew.
- Still on banking, I helped a Spanish agency with a pitch they were doing for another international bank.
- And still on Spain, a new project for Amadeus.
- Some more work for Outreach International, who are now organising volunteer projects in Nepal.
